Heads of Oblast State Administrations will not arrive to take part in the planned session of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, because the government did not agree these trips with the President of Ukraine.
Deputy President’s Chief of Staff Roman Bezsmertny announced this today, according to the President’s press-service.
He noted that it was not for the first time when the Cabinet of Ministers leadership was trying to call Oblast governors to the capital for them to take part in different sessions, but they never submitted any respective applications in advance to President Victor Yushchenko.
The Presidential Secretariat has many times turned attention of the government to the necessity of agreeing all trips of Oblast governors outside their territories, in line with the President’s decree of February 11 of the current year. However, once again, the Cabinet of Ministers invites governors in Kyiv without the permit of the President, R.Bezsmertny stressed.
According to him, the Presidential Secretariat got to know about the government’s plans from mass media. They did not receive any official letters from the government, which would indicate the date and aim of the government’s session with governors.
Mass media earlier informed that the Cabinet of Ministers planned to hear reports of regional heads about inflation showings in their regions, and to rebuke those governors who fail to fight inflation.
The deputy Chief of Staff stressed that the government’s attempt to call governors to Kyiv without agreeing this issue with the President indicates the incorrect behavior of the Cabinet of Ministers in relations with the Head of State. “The Prime Minister assured there will be no risk factors any more in the bilateral relations with the President. They should not create tension where it could be easily averted”, R.Bezsmertny concluded.
