Yanukovych speaks about conflict between Akhmetov and Tykhonov

Party of Regions leader Victor Yanukovych says that Rinat Akhmetov responded emotionally to the statement of their fellow party member Victor Tykhonov.

According to the Party of Regions’ press-service, Victor Yanukovych said: “During all the difficult years of my life, in very complicated situations – when I was working in the Donetsk Oblast, and in Kyiv, - I many times got evidence of the wisdom, self-control, and high internal culture of Rinat Akhmetov. His emotional statement about Tykhonov was a response of a person indignant at false, unjust, and, to put it mildly, incorrect comments of Tykhonov. Thus, knowing Rinat Akhmetov, I was absolutely confident that he will respond namely in such a way to the first interview of Tykhonov”, Victor Yanukovych said.

The Party of Regions leader stressed he did wanted to believe the information of Oleksander Yefremov, who said that V.Tykhonnov had gone on mission and could not give that interview.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in an interview, V.Tykhonov expressed disappointment with the fact that R.Akhmetov wished the Ukrainian government to quicker overcome the crisis. He also expressed indignation at Akhmetov’s behavior in 2005, when the latter presented a T-short of Shakhtar FC to Yulia Tymoshenko.

In his turn, R.Akhmetov confirmed that he wished the government of Yulia Tymoshenko to overcome the crisis, because he wants Ukrainians to have worthy works and salaries.

“As for Mr.Tykhonov, if he wishes that the crisis overcome Ukraine, let him say this in public. If the crisis overcomes Ukraine, it will mean the growth of unemployment and poverty”, R.Akhmetov said.
