President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko promises “many new and strange” facts in the case on his poisoning.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this in an interview with journalists near the Prosecutor’s General Office, were he came to give evidence of being poisoned.

Victor Yushchenko said that, with his presence in the prosecutor’s office, he wants to show that he is extremely interested in completing the investigation as soon as possible.

“I know that the prosecutor’s office has been working on this case very actively, not for 10, and even not for 20 hours a day. I guess we will see a logical completion of the case”, the President said.

He stressed that, as a victim, he is ready to provide any information necessary for the Prosecutor’s General Office.

Victor Yushchenko pointed out he knows certain information about the course of the investigation, but would not like to unveil it today in order not to hamper the investigation.

Asked why he had not been summoned to interrogation for three years, and whether it may be assessed as a sabotage of the Prosecutor’s General Office, Victor Yushchenko recalled that he gave the first evidence as early as in 2005.

“I think this question should be addressed to the prosecutor’s office. I want just to stress that all the moments when my presence was necessary… I, from my side, guarantee a punctual presence”, the President of Ukraine said.

At the same time, Victor Yushchenko refused to forecast when the investigation may be completed, having reiterated that he is interested in its termination as quick as possible.

Commenting on demand of journalists on the information that SBU ex-chief Volodymyr Satsiuk received Russian citizenship, Victor Yushchenko said: “All of them will be Russian citizens”.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on 5 September 2004, the Ukrainian President, being a presidential candidate, felt ill and was hospitalized to the Viennese based Rudolfinerhouse hospital. Physicians of the hospital stated that Yushchenko was poisoned with dioxin.
