Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko believes the gas agreements, reached during the visit of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko to Moscow, were a victory of all the democratic team.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, she claimed this to a news conference in the Cabinet of Ministers today.

“During the visit of the Ukrainian President to RF, they, nevertheless, made decision to remove all intermediaries, including shadow and corrupted ones, from the gas market of Ukraine. I’m convinced this is a big victory of the democratic team”, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed.

The Prime Minister also believes that the current gas agreements between Ukraine and Russia will become another step towards bringing order at the gas market of Ukraine.

“Our government will take part in the work on signing new direct agreements on gas supplies between Naftogaz NJSC and Gazprom OJSC, and will make everything to resume the power of Naftohaz Ukrayiny. This is a worthy victory, and I would like to congratulate everybody”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.

In his turn, Top Deputy PM of Ukraine Oleksander Turchynov claimed that, during the visit of Victor Yushchenko to Moscow, all the directives, worked out by the government on February 11, were fulfilled and clearly fixed at the talks.

According to him, the most important is that Ukraine will pay for the gas, consumed in October-December of 2007m, at prices of the year 2007.
