The European Union will give Ukraine help to overcome its political and economic crisis, EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana said during a meeting with the 27 EU member-states in Luxembourg on Monday, RIA Novosti reported.

Solana did not specify, however, what form the EU assistance would take.

Solana said they had "discussed how they could help Ukraine" before and after the country`s presidential elections which are slated for October 25 of this year.
