Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko is convinced that after the Easter Holidays, the Verkhovna Rada will adopt in the first reading amendments to the Constitution concerning the creation of a parliamentary republic in Ukraine.

She claimed this to ICTV television of Sunday.

“I’m convinced that after the Easter Holidays, our parliament will gather and vote in the first reading for the amendments to the Constitution, which are exigently necessary for Ukraine at present, even more than any other reforms. Because no country can develop steadily, strategically, and become stronger in the world geo-political space, if there is a chaos of government”, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.

She emphasized that both presidential and parliamentary forms of government exist in the world, but they must not be mixed. “I’m opposed to chaos, and opposed to dual power”, Yulia Tymoshenko specified.

“I believe that the parliamentary form of government will at last introduce order, and it will be similar to that in Germany. There will be a Chancellor and an order… At the same time, I stress once again, the President will remain… and the all-Ukrainian election of President will remain”, the Prime Minister said.

At the same time, Yulia Tymoshenko expressed a belief that the democratic coalition will be united. “I believe we are a united team, and we will follow our path together. Besides, I’m confident that the democratic coalition will be consolidated when voting for the amendments to the Constitution”, the Prime Minister added.
