President demands to introduce parliamentary election system on basis of open lists

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko demands to introduce a system of parliamentary elections on the basis of open lists.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the President claimed this, speaking at the conference devoted to the struggle against corruption.

Victor Yushchenko asked to prepare the respective amendments to the legislation within two months. He stressed that the elector wants to know, who represents him in parliament. He is confident that if electoral lists are not personified, it will be impossible to restore this communication.

“We are more and more talking about regions, and more and more drifting apart”, Victor Yushchenko said.
