President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko does not rule out that the new edition of the Constitution may stipulate a two-chamber parliament.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the President claimed this, speaking at the conference devoted to the struggle against corruption.

Victor Yushchenko also expressed an opinion that the process of introducing amendments into the Constitution must be public. He noted that the introduction of these amendments was supported by almost all political forces. Namely because of that, the President said, it was agreed that his constitutional right to introduce amendments into the Ukrainian Constitution he “would like to use only collectively: I invited to a roundtable – in the National Council – all political forces public, law-enforcement agencies…”

The President stressed that this Council was due to formulate the concept of amendments, and then the very document. The President wants to submit this document for the consideration of parliament. “In this variant, I see an answer whether we will be consolidated, or we will follow the games of the year 2004. The scenario of the year 2004 resulted in a constitutional overthrow. Those willing to repeat this scenario, aimed to achieve the same”, Victor Yushchenko said.
