People`s Self-Defense political bloc leader, Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko made decision not to propose his candidacy for the post of Kyiv Mayor at the upcoming election.
He said this at a news conference in UNIAN today.
According to Yu.Lutsenko, he has been supporting and supports the idea that Kyiv has to receive a single candidate for the Kyiv Mayor post from the democratic forces, particularly, from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and the Vitaliy Klitschko bloc.
“It was my personal decision not to propose my candidacy at the Mayor election”, Yuri Lutsenko claims.
At the same time, he agreed that after the scuffle between him and incumbent Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy, his image was somehow tarnished by “lying media, controlled by L.Chernovetskiy”.
However, Yuri Lutsenko expressed an opinion he did not have to apply many forces to repair his image.
