To avoid clashes between the right and the left political forces during carrying out mass actions on occasion of the 90th anniversary of the October Revolution, police closed access to Maydan Nezalezhnosti.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, in particular, the central square of Kyiv was encircled with metal fences from the streets of Institutska, Horodetskoho, Prorizna, Mykhaylivska, Sofiyivska, and the European Square.

At present a big number of policemen is guarding the center of Kyiv. More than ten buses with soldiers of “Berkut” special subdivision of police are standing not far from the European Square.

A rally of “Svoboda” All-Ukrainian Union, which was scheduled for 8 a.m. at Maydan, did not take place as the Kyiv City Administrative Court forbade any actions at this square on 7 November.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Kyiv City Administrative Court forbade the Communist Party and “Svoboda” to hold rallies at Maydan Nezalezhnosti and Khreshchatyk on 7 November.

Thus, the CPU has right to rally at the Arsenalna Square and to descend to the European Square.
