Yulia Tymoshenko’s defense lawyer, Yuriy Sukhov, has again requested that the court release the former prime minister under the guarantee of representatives of the Ukrainian intelligentsia and leading cultural figures, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"We pledge to take Yulia Tymoshenko under our personal guarantee during the trial in this criminal case, and ensure her appearance for every court session," said the statement read by Yuriy Sukhov.
The appeal was signed by: Ivan Dziuba, Dmytro Pavlychko, Volodymyr Yavorivsky, Ruslana Lyzhychko, Oleksandr Ponomaryov, Ada Rohovtseva, Maria Matios, Levko Lukyanenko, Valeriy Shevchuk, Yuriy Mushketyk, Olha Herasymyuk and others.
Judge Rodion Kireyev said he will consider the petition after the next witness is questioned. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostyantyn Hryshchenko is currently testifying.
