President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.

Among the key issues in question was the progress of implementing decisions on the decrease of a number of permits and licenses approved at the recent sitting of the Committee on Economic Reforms.

“These issues should be solved as soon as possible. The heads who are hindering this process today deserve nothing but disapproval. I have already said about it: we should not tolerate the bureaucratic system which has existed for ages. We should eradicate it,” the President said.

During the meeting, the Head of state also focused the Prime Minister’s attention on the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision to approve a list of paid services provided by the higher education establishments.

Viktor Yanukovych underlined that these innovations actually close the door to higher education for many talented children. “New paid services for students will mean the increase of payment for education. We should not make money on it. Vice versa, we should simplify this system. We should better increase salary for those who provide these services to improve their quality, rather than make the students pay for additional services,” the President of Ukraine said.

The Head of state noted that the list of services in the decree refers not only to education but also to utilities services, food, pre-school education establishments, including boarding schools. “It is inadmissible,” V. Yanukovych told the Head of government.

The Prime Minister assured the President that the decree will be revised. “We will correct this decree,” he said.

The Head of government also reported on a socioeconomic situation in the country to the President.

M.Azarov highlighted that “it is stable, the budget is fulfilled.” At the same time the Prime Minister noted that there are some problems with the Pension Fund related to tax evasion and superannuation contribution to the Pension Fund. Mykola Azarov informed that the Government is developing measures aimed at improving the situation for the better in the near future.
