A majority of Ukrainians believe that, to solve the crisis, political forces should reach a compromise without holding any early presidential and parliamentary elections.

These are the results of a poll carried out by the Ukrainian Democratic Circle on the order of the Institute of Politics.

Some 42.8% of those polled support the idea of compromise between political forces without snap elections. At the same time, rather a big group of respondents (some 36.9%) support the idea of simultaneous early presidential and parliamentary polls.

Another some 6.7% support only a snap presidential election.

At the same time, some 2.7% of those polled are confident that it is necessary to carry out a snap parliamentary election.

Some 11% of respondents could not answer the question.

The poll was carried out on March 27 – April 2, 2009, in all regions of Ukraine. On the whole, 1200 respondents aged over 18 years old were interrogated. The error margin does not exceed 2.9%.
