Baloha forecasts crush for places in BYuT list

President’s Chief of Staff Victor Baloha claims that such political forces as People’s Self-Defense, European Party, People’s Movement of Ukraine, and Christian Democratic Union, which are members of Our Ukraine – People’s Self Defense Bloc, may not be considered Yushchenko’s allies any more after they voiced their positions today.

V.Baloha said this in his comments forwarded to UNIAN by the President’s press-service. The Chief of Staff believes that Victor Yushchenko, probably, will take into account the position of these political forces when he will determine the circle of his allies at the snap parliamentary poll.

“It’s never late to correct mistakes of the past years. Nothing hampers to unite forces that deliberately share and fulfill country’s values. Such forces will take part in the election under Yushchenko’s flag”, V.Baloha said.

At the same time, he called the today’s statements of leaders of the People’s Self-Defense, European Party, People’s Movement of Ukraine, and Christian Democratic Union a public formation of a coupe d’etat committee within frames of Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense Bloc. In the opinion of V.Baloha, authors of the statements, which were voiced in the Verkhovna Rada Thursday, showed they were interested in joining OU-PSD bloc at the previous election because it guaranteed them seats in parliament.

“Now they expect for close political dividends from their today’s demarche. At the same time, when they will be distributed, there inevitably will be crowd and crush, because there won’t be enough places in the BYuT list for everybody. History shows that putshists are never and nowhere respected, and their destiny is quite sad”, V.Baloha said.

According to him, their today’s statements were addressed not to society but to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is already compiling the BYuT electoral list.

"Small leaders of virtual parties, who have not been independent players at the country`s political arena since long ago, spoke to TV cameras today. Cynicism and, simltaneously, evident truth of the situation, is that all these "leaders" understand quite well their scanty importance in the Ukrainian politics", the President`s Chief of Staff said.
