Ukrainian wine producers initiate creation of a State Wine Production Inspection.
Ukrwinprom corporation deputy CEO Volodymyr Kucherenko claimed this to journalists on Monday.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, V.Kucherenko noted that Ukrwinprom corporation had turned with an open letter to Agricultural Policy Minister of Ukraine Yuri Melnyk requesting him to set up a State Wine Production Inspection.
According to V.Kucherenko, the inspection will supervise the quality of both Ukrainian and imported wine, which is produced and/or sold in Ukraine. “At present there is no agency with such authorities in Ukraine”, said V.Kucherenko.
By the data of Ukrwinprom, from 30% to 60% of wine production in Ukraine (depending on the kind of production) is counterfeit.
The corporation had already turned to the Agricultural Policy Ministry but was answered that no money was stipulated for that need.
