The proposal of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to hold an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is nothing but another PR action, according to a statement of the Party of Regions, forwarded to UNIAN.

The Party of Regions recalled that Rada electronic voting system was dismantled in the session hall, and, thus, voting is impossible. Besides, a large number of deputies stay in USA at present, where they meet with their colleagues – American Congressmen, and it is quite probable that Ukrainian parliamentarians merely will not have time to buy tickets and arrive in Ukraine by Thursday.

“The real goal of the Prime Minister is evident: to advertise herself once again, even using the misfortune suffered by residents of the Western Ukraine. She tries to persuade them that it is only her who sincerely wishes to help and who can provide them with necessary help”, the statement reads.

At the same time, the Party of Regions emphasizes that namely Yulia Tymoshenko bears responsibility for failing to submit budget amendments for consideration of parliament in time, that is, till March 1 of the current year.

As UNIAN reported earlier,  On Monday the BYuT faction turned to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk with a proposal to call up an extraordinary session of parliament to introduce amendments into the state budget considering the natural disaster in the western regions of Ukraine.

According to the faction’s statement, forwarded to UNIAN, the amendments are been worked out by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The statement reads that BYuT has already collected the necessary 155 signatures of Members of  Parliament to call up an extraordinary session.

“The natural disaster that has hit the western regions of our state needs an urgent consolidation of all power branches for quicker overcoming the consequences. By preliminary estimates, the country’s losses from the disaster will make several billions hryvnias”, the statement reads.
