Early partial results from 198 Kyiv polling stations (almost 20% of polling stations) show incumbent mayor of Ukraine`s capital Leonid Chernovetskiy leading the  election with 37.47% of votes.

According to the data publicized by the Kyiv City Electoral Commission, L.Chernovetskiy is followed by BYuT candidate Oleksandr Turchynov with 18.49%, and former heavyweight boxing champion Vitaly Klitschko, who has 17.64%.

On the whole, 1026 polling stations operated at the Kyiv mayor election on May 25.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian parliament called the early election after Tymoshenko accused the incumbent mayor of illegally selling highly profitable land and withholding revenue from the national budget. Chernovetsky denied it, AP reports. In all, there were 70 candidates on the yard-long ballot.
