A Russian missile was discovered by Ukrainian border guards at a Black Sea coast in Crimea on May 1.

An informed source disclosed this to UNIAN.

“The missile was discovered by a Ukrainian border guards duty detail at the Black Sea coast between Alushta and Sudak cities”, a source disclosed to UNIAN, adding that the shell appeared to be a new experimental missile, used by ship systems against enemy air targets.

According to the source, at first, border guards informed the Ukrainian Naval Forces about their find. The latter reported that Ukrainian mariners did not carry out any drills at that time.

After that, the border guards informed the Russian Black Sea Fleet representatives, who admitted that the missile was “lost” by the Russian side. According the news agency’s interlocutor, the missile was returned to the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

At the same time, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine head Serhiy Astakhov informed that a border guard patrol discovered a shell, similar to torpedo, near Privetnoye village in the Alushtynsky district of the Crimea at around 10.30 on Aril 26.

According to him, the Ukrainian Emergency and Interior Ministries were informed about this fact.

According to S.Astakhov, the missile was passed to the Emergency Ministry. According to preliminary information, it was used by the Russian Black Sea Fleet during exercises.
