The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the Law of Ukraine “On Approval of the Ukraine President’s Decision to Allow Subdivisions of Foreign Countries Armed Forces to Exercise at Ukrainian Territory in 2008”.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 363 MPs out of 447, registered in the chamber, have voted for this.

Commenting on such a large support of this law, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk noted that a new majority – the Ukrainian parliament – has formed in the Verkhovna Rada.

Defense Minister Yuri Yekhanurov informed that parliament that this year, 11 international military exercises are planned at the Ukrainian territory. In particular, the armed forces of Russia, Belgium, Moldova, Belarus, USA, Slovakia, and Poland, will be involved in the exercises.
