“RosUkrEnergo” to supply gas to Ukraine this year on contract with Naftohaz

RosUkrEnergo company, in line with its contract with Naftyohaz Ukrayiny NJSC, will keep on supplying gas to Ukraine this year.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, deputy President’s Chief of Staff Oleksander Shlapak claimed this to journalists today.

He noted that the contract was signed between Naftohaz Ukrayiny NJSC and RosUkrEenrgo on supplying nearly 50 billion cu m of gas till the end of the year.

“It means that finally Ukraine will consume legitimate gas”, O.Shlapak stressed.

He added that RosUkrEnergo has kept its position of intermediary.

He also informed that, instead of UkrGas-Energo, a new enterprise was registered in Ukraine – “Gazprom Sbyt Ukrayina” Lttd., a subsidiary of Gazprom.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 12, Gazprom and Naftohaz Ukrayiny signed an Agreement on developing relations in the gas sphere. In line with the Agreement, since April 1, 2008, a subsidiary or an affiliate of Gazprom, will annually supply not less than 7.5 bln cu m of gas directly to industrial consumers of Ukraine.

Earlier, the gas to Ukrainian industrial consumers was supplied by a JV of Naftohaz Ukrayiny and RosUkrEnergo – UkrGaz-Energo.
