16 suffered as methane flares up in Krasnoarmeiskaya-Zapadnaya coalmine
All 57 miners, who were working close to the explosion in Krasnoarmeiskaya-Zapadnaya coalmine, were saved. However, 16 of them suffered and need medical treatment: 11 got burns, two were wounded, two were poisoned with the gas, and one is undergoing a medical examination.
According to the Donetsk territorial mine administration, methane exploded in one of gangways of the Krasnoarmeiskaya-Zapadnaya coalmine in the Donetsk region in Ukraine at 12.20 on Monday. No fire occurred.
57 miners were working in a close vicinity of the explosion. On the whole, 1560 miners were working in the mine at the time of the explosion. Rescuers continue exploring mineshafts.
