U.S. President George Bush will be entertained in Ukraine with chicken Kyiv and vareniks [national curd or fruit dumpling] with cherry.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Ukrainian President’s Press Secretary Iryna Vannikova claimed this to a news conference in Kyiv today.
According to her, one of the “zests” of the U.S. President’s visit in Ukraine will be a state breakfast on behalf of the Ukrainian President and his wife Katherine Yushchenko.
“The breakfast will be served with traditional Ukrainian dishes, in particular, the dishes of the traditional capital cuisine. Among the main courses, there will be chicken Kyiv, and famous Ukrainian vareniks with cherry”, she disclosed.
I.Vannikova also disclosed that the Yushchenko couple is going to present the Bush couple a big wooden plate, painted by Petrykivsky manner masters. Members of the American delegation will also receive Ukrainian national souvenirs.
