Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko assured that Ukraine would become a member of the European Union. She stated at the conference “Ukraine-EU: towards common challenges” in Brussels, according to the government’s press-office.

“We are confident of our power, unity of our democratic team, including consolidation of the Government and President’s team and of the fact that Ukraine will become a member of the European Union,” the Head of Government noted.

The Prime Minister noted that the Government is aware of problems the foreign investors are facing today in Ukraine. According to Yulia Tymoshenko, with the purpose of removing these problems the Government is ready to continue cooperation with the European Business Association.

The Head of Government reminded that the Government is working at pursuing proposals submitted by this association concerning improvement of the investment climate in Ukraine. “We aspire to be a favorable country for foreign investments,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.

At that she announced that Ukraine is constantly facing obstacles which can be compared with the biggest tsunami in the world. “This is the tsunami of counteraction because the society is used to live in a half-shadow economic situation,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.

At the same time, according to her, today Ukraine is facing grand opposition to reforms aiming at retaining the old system. “But our government team is able to accept all challenges and demonstrate results,” the PM is confident.
