Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said in an interview with AFP that he intends to use the future accession of Ukraine to the World Trade Organization (WTO) to strengthen its position in trade disputes with neighbouring Russia, according to Thompson Financial.

`Given the desire of Russia to join the WTO, we will have interesting negotiations on `anti-dumping measures` and other `restrictions` imposed by Moscow on Ukrainian exports,` he said.

Ukraine has an annual deficit of `about 6 bln usd` in its trade with Moscow, `of which half, according to experts, is due to these restrictions,` Yushchenko said.
