A group of nine Ukrainian citizens who are voluntarily resettling in Russia will receive all the necessary papers at the Russian embassy in Kiev on Thursday in the presence of Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin, Itar-Tass news agency reported.
The Russian embassy says that five Ukrainian nationals are moving to the Kaluga region, two to the Kaliningrad region, one to the Lipetsk and one to the Tver regions.
The Russian diplomatic mission in Ukraine is considering dozens of applications from Ukrainian citizens who wish to resettle to Russia under a programme of voluntary resettlement of compatriots to Russia.
The re-settlers include teachers, accountants, doctors and insurance agents. Concrete jobs matching their levels of education and professional skills have been offered to them in places of future residence. Housing will be provided on conditions of mortgage crediting.
In June 2006, the Russian president signed a decree endorsing the state programme of voluntary resettlement designed to combine the potential of compatriots living abroad with the development needs of Russian regions. The programme is expected to complete a system of measures aimed at increasing the birth rate, reducing the mortality rate and regulating migration flows in Russia.
Compatriots moving to live in Russia under this programme have a priority right to acquire temporary residence permits, permanent residence permits and Russian citizenship. They also have the right to choose a place of future residence in Russia.
