Receipts from privatization must not be channeled for social grants-in-aid – Yushchenko
Receipts from privatization must be channeled for social grants-in-aid.
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko said this in his interview with UNIAN news agency.
The President stressed that carrying out a mass privatization in just one year may cause reducing the value of assets, which will be put for sale.
“We would not like the topic of social dominanta to become a basic one in the sphere of the national privatization”, he noted.
According to Victor Yushchenko, one should understand that they sell assets of enterprises, which will never return to the state property any more.
According to him, the state needs a mechanism, which will create wealth, but not reduce it, so that “this wealth be many times used to support the level of people’s welfare”.
The President also criticized actions of governments, which caused a large deficit of the state budget. “This was not a thought-out and correct policy”, he said.
