President Victor Yushchenko approved decisions made by Verkhovna Rada regarding modification of voting procedure on Prime Minister, according to the President`s press-office. He also considers such modifications defensible as parliamentary majority reported malfunction of “Rada” electronic voting system.
V. Yushchenko said that modified procedure of Prime Minister election complies fully with democratic norms and does not in any way harm rights and prerogatives of the deputies. “Experience of developed democracies shows that in critical situations such approach allows to come out of a cleft stick. In Verkhovna Rada if the 6th convocation where coalition has minimal advantage and there is maximum of distrust between majority and minority voting by show shall lower tensions and suspicions”, - President said.
