Yatsenyuk took part at the OSCE 15th Ministerial Council

On November 29, 2007 the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk took part at the OSCE 15th Ministerial Council taking place in Madrid (the Kingdom of Spain), according to the MFA press-service.

 While speaking at the plenary session A.Yatsenyuk stressed the key role of the OSCE in developing modern security architecture in Europe, strengthening democracy and ensuring human rights in the European space.

 A.Yatsenyuk underlined that Ukraine in every possible way supported the OSCE activity aimed to implement projects in the sphere of energy security, environment protection, responding to modern global challenges.

 In his speech A. Yatsenyuk paid particular attention to the issues of the ensuring security and stability on the area of OSCE responsibility, in particular, to Ukraine’s efforts regarding the settlement of the “frozen” conflicts, continuation of implementation of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, stabilization of the situation in Kosovo, Transdnistria and Afghanistan.

 Pointing to the important role and place of the OSCE on the international arena, high level of cooperation in the framework of this organization Minister Yatsenyuk announced that Ukraine nominated its candidacy for the OSCE chairmanship in 2013.

 In the framework of the OSCE 15th Ministerial Council A. Yatsenyuk held meetings with Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany and David Kramer, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State.
