Debt of Ukrainian companies to Gazprom made up nearly 2 bln dollars as of early October – Zubkov
As of early October, the debt of Ukrainian economic objects – RosUkrEnergo, UkrGazEnergo, and Naftogaz Ukrayiny to Gazprom made up nearly 2 billion dollars.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Russia Victor Zubkov claimed this at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Victor Yanukovych.
He noted that yesterday the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations were finished and agreements were signed, in line with which the Ukrainian economic objects will pay the debt in full by November 1. In particular, according to V.Zubkov, Ukraine will partly redeem its debt for Russian gas deliveries by transfering some of its abundant stockpiles of gas to Gazprom. Besides, according to V.Zubkov, under a deal reached between Gazprom and Ukraine the amount of debt had been reduced to $1.2 billion from the initial $1.3 billion claimed by Gazprom.
