Victor Yushchenko stressed that the today’s conversation must take place in the field of what should be done by everybody to resume the normal work of the Verkhovna Rada and the government.

“I would like very much that the political forces, which entered the Verkhovna Rada, and their leaders, in particular, draw conclusions from the short political period, in which the parliament of the fifth convocation operated”, the President said.

Victor Yushchenko recalled that the reason of the snap poll was the fact that some political forces wanted to revise the result of the election of the year 2006.

At the same time, according to him, “a vocabulary, which did not contribute to constructivism in the Ukrainian politics, was applied during the recent snap poll”.

“I call on all of us, esteemed present, to leave it in the past”, the President said.

Victor Yushchenko noted that he would like to see the Ukrainian parliament as an efficient institute, which, together with the President and the government, provides an efficient development of the democracy, economics, and politics.

“I’m convinced that today we have a unique chance to pay attention to the things, which we have been neglecting for years”, he noted.

Victor Yushchenko also pointed out that it has always been hard to form a democratic coalition, as not all wanted to see it.

“Nobody or a few wanted to see the parliament stable”, the Head of State pointed out.

He added that political forces, which won the election, must decide in the nearest days who will be in the coalition, and who – in the opposition.
