Movements of trains to Moldova along railway bridge through Dnister river at 116 km long section between Mohyliv-Podilsky (Ukraine) and Oknitsa (Moldova) will be resumed since December 15, , according to the Mission of the Ukraine to European Communities.

The bridge over Dnister river, which joins Ukraine with Moldova, was closed for capital reconstruction in the beginning of this year. The works, during which the defective elements of reinforced concrete traveling structures were replaced, will ensure decrease of dynamic load on the bridge. From now on the trains will be moving across the bridge with reduced speed of 25 km/h. The total scope of works on capital bridge reconstruction cost almost 4 mln. UAH for UkrZaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railroads company).

At Ukrainian-Russian-Moldavian negotiations on December 8, 2006, an agreement on opening Kuchurgan-Novosavitsky section for passenger trains movement was reached. First trains will start running since December 15.
