: Membership of a faction and participation in coalition are not the same
It all depends on what question you ask I agree that under Ukraine’s constitution “Imperative Mandate” provisions a member must remain a member of the faction that appointed them. if they resign from the faction or are expelled then they lose their mandate. HOWEVER It is possible for a member to remain a member of the faction/party and not participate or support the coalition. A member can also vote on issues as they see fit including a vote of no-confidence in the government. The question is how long will the members remain members of the faction/party. Have they withdrawn from the faction/party of just the coalition? The other question that needs to be resolved is under what circumstances can a member be expelled from a faction? |
